The Middleton Hub is an initiative emanating from the North East Rural Growth Network Funded Programme.

The accountable body for the RGN Programme is Northumberland County Council.

The Hub provides a framework of support to bring about economic prosperity and to stimulate local business opportunities in the locality; At present the Middleton Hub has 3 strands:

1-    The building of 4 new business start-up/office/workshop units at Middleton-in-Teesdale Farmers Auction

2-    Conversion of disused / underused space for supported workspace

3-    Deployment of a new fixed term post of Middleton Hub Development Worker - employed and hosted by UTASS.

All of the above elements/strands can operate independently but all together offer additional benefits

The Middleton Hub also receives support from the Rural Enterprise Development Officers Marzia Aloisio and John Atkinson - with Marzia working from the UTASS office on Tuesdays.

Projects and work associated with the Middleton Hub are steered and managed by a sub group consisting of:
Catherine Pearson (Durham County Council)
